ABOUT THE ROOMS
Master Bedroom with King size bed and 5-piece bath including a huge clawfoot tub, spacious room with plenty of windows and a gas fireplace.
The Green Room - Two twin beds and two twin-over-full bunk beds, large bay windows, and a gas fireplace.
The Gray Room - Queen size bed and a twin-over-twin bunk bed with a bay window and student desk.
Bathroom - 4 piece bathroom is shared by Gray and Green rooms.
Parlor - play cards, get some work done, or just chill at the pub table.
Living room - comfy leather chairs and love seat make the conversations linger.
Dining room - seat 8 or even 10 at the huge round table under a massive chandelier.
Kitchen - modern appliances and country charm. A wood stove sits in the corner and the 10' farm table overlooks the sunny southern meadow. Two couches make it easy for guests to talk with the cook without getting in the way.
The total property is 42 acres over half of which is completely undeveloped. Besides numerous birds there are: armadillo, fox, rabbit, raccoon, coyote, deer, squirrels and much more.
The private pond is stocked with bass and bream, and guests also have access to almost a half mile of Ogeechee River frontage.
Hamburg State Park
Located 8 miles from The Jewell House, Hamburg State Park offers a wonderful mix of history and outdoor recreation. A campground offers shaded sites along the edge of quiet Hamburg Lake fed by the Little Ogeechee River. Anglers can enjoy fishing for largemouth bass, crappie and bream, as well as boat ramps and a fishing pier. Wildlife enthusiasts should look for turtles, alligators, raccoons, deer, birds and numerous other animals that live within the park. The restored 1921 water-powered gristmill is still operational and used to grind corn during events. The park’s museum is also open during events, displaying old agricultural tools and implements used in rural Georgia.
A.H. Stephens State Park
Just 30 minutes away is a pretty park with three fishing lakes and over 1,177 acres, A.H Stephens State Park. There are full facilities to make horseback riding easier on you, and 19 miles of trails to trot around on. The Confederate museum in the park boasts one of the best collections of Civil War artifacts anywhere in Georgia and A.H. Stephen’s former home here, Liberty Hall, has been nicely renovated and is open for tours. Other structures in the park feature Colonial and Revival architecture.
